Public Relations for the Nation’s First New Nuclear Reactor of This Century

Strengthen your campaign and community relations skills
On Oct. 19 last year, the nation’s first new nuclear reactor in 20 years officially began operation in the Tennessee Valley.

The $4.7 billion Watts Bar Nuclear Unit 2, along with six other Tennessee Valley Authority nuclear units, supplies more than one third of the region’s electricity, reaching more than 4.5 million homes.

TVA Communications Leader Steve Higginbottom led an award-winning stakeholder outreach program to improve public and regulatory perceptions that directly supported licensing the unit. Join us on March 15, as he shares insider info on the campaign and the company’s renewed focus on community relations.
